President, PowerZone Volleyball Inc.

My office a 30 thousand square foot volleyball facility. My work
clothes, sneakers, shorts & T-shirt (maybe a pair of socks). During the summer, if I am out on the 2 sand courts or at the park, it's a pair of Tevas, shorts and some sunscreen. My job here is about stirring up some fun -- to get people playing volleyball and enjoy the game. There are very few "volleyball" centers around which makes it so unique, but the special part is making it all work. I mean sure volleyball has been around for a 100 years but its not just the game or the courts, it's creating the fun and enjoyment for people. Have you ever been to an Italian restaurant where the owner has this great passion about the food that is served? The enjoyment for the owner is in sharing the great food with the customers. At PowerZone its all about serving up volleyball, camaraderie fun and excitement. Before this I spent 12 years in computer programming and project management. So I also run the IS department here as well. And when time allows I am a professor at a local college teaching information systems. It's pretty cool, I meet people from all over who come and play volleyball. They are having fun; they have a good time, its great! , "Volleyball isn't life but this is what I do for a living."

Assistant Manager
Hi, my name is C.J. and I am the newest addition to the PowerZone
Volleyball family. I have a confession to make, and that is Volleyball is the love of my life. However, when I first crossed paths with Volleyball I was pretty unsure about myself. I had just gotten cut from my high school basketball team and was pretty shaken up about it. When everything seemed to be going down for the C.J. man something great happened to me. That greatness was Volleyball. I tried out for the JV volleyball team at my high school and absolutely fell in love with everything about the sport. The action, the energy, the pace, the excitement, and most importantly the people and all the friends I have made along the way.
After completing my freshman year as a starter on JV, I worked hard and made myself a starter on Varsity for the following 3 years. During my senior year of high school I made 1st team All State and was recruited to play Division 1 Volleyball at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. While playing in college my team went to the NCAA tournament 2 out of 4 years, and was captain my junior and senior year, not too bad for a freshman basketball reject.
Volleyball and its players share a passion that I haven’t found in any other sport. It is a passion that makes is so easy to meet new people while playing the game. That passion is the sole thing that brought me to work full time at PowerZone. I have more fun playing, coaching, and being around volleyball than anything else out there, and I am looking forward to a long life of excitement at PowerZone Volleyball Center. See you here!
