Boys Fall Locals 2018

PowerZone Volleyball and Warren Sixpack Juniors — have agreed to join forces to expand boys volleyball in Northern New Jersey. Fred Siegle, Club Director of Warren SixPack and  George Mon,  owner of PowerZone Volleyball have agreed to work together and  the partnership of the two organizations will create more opportunities for boys in North Jersey to play volleyball and compete at the highest levels. Warren Sixpack is New Jersey's premier National Volleyball Club for boys with the best players in NJ and has teams from U-14 through U-18.  PowerZone, established 23 years ago and simply the best facility anywhere.  PowerZone is home to Allegro Girls volleyball Club and other programs. 

What does this mean? PowerZone Sixpack and Warren Sixpack will have joint tryouts in September at PowerZone and CBA.  Local teams from both programs will play together and improve the level of play of the local tournaments.  PowerZone and Warren teams will have their own assigned coaches but have the opportunity to work together. 

DescriptionLocals is a program that provides a club volleyball experience without having to travel. There are separate Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer sessions for local teams. There are approx 9 players per team, and 2 teams share a practice court. Players can also get their own roster together and register as a team. Competitions are against other local teams and outside visiting teams.  10 week program. 

Location: All practices and competitions are held at PowerZone Volleyball Center, 3 Luger Rd Denville.

Placements:  Locals is a sign-up pay for your spot program.  Players will placed in groups after evaluation based on skill level and age.

Registration: Registration is pending until payment is received. ($350/player) Team Registration: If you have a group of 9-10 players who would like to play together, you can register a team. email gmon@powerzonevb.com

Getting StartedPlayers who have not had comprehensive instructional camp on fundamental skills should take camp (serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, digging, diving). Camp is not required but a great way to prepare for the up coming season, regardless of beginner or advanced player.  8/20-23 Boys camp www.powerzonevb.com ($235 if you are signing up for locals) 

Practice Times Depends on placements and number of teams .

  • Sunday Locals: Sun 12n-3p or 330p-630p  3 hours/week. (8 practices )
  • Sep 16, 23,30, Oct 7, 14, 21, 28*, Nov 4, 11, 18* (2 gamedays*)

Tournament Schedue:  Oct 28, Nov 18,

Program Fees:  $350  (Includes Practices, Tournaments, Uniform shirt )  Program fees are not refundable. Credit Cards are NOT accepted.

Club Directors: 

George Mon, Coach George has coached nearly every age group since 1995.   His teams have won many tournaments, Regional Championships in Open and Club levels at various ages. Coach George guided the Lady Cyclones of Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ for 2 seasons in 1998 and 1999. In both seasons, the team finished with new season highs in victories. At adult club nationals competition, while playing and coaching, his team finished 7th in 2002 and 9th in 2003 in the Gold bracket of the USAV Men's B competition. His team was also USAV Regional Champion in 1999 and 2003. Coach George resides in Boonton with wife Nina, and sons Lukas and Ethan.

Alan Masone,  Coach  Alan has been actively involved in volleyball for over 20 years and has been a coach for 15. He played club volleyball while enrolled at the University of Arizona and went to the NIRSA Club Nationals in 1997. He continued his club volleyball career after transferring to Seton Hall University, and was named to the MACVC All-Conference Team in both 1998 and 1999. A beach volleyball enthusiast as well, Alan competed in doubles tournaments in New York and New Jersey from 1995-2008. His coaching experience covers age groups from grade school through the college level.  He's coached PowerZone’s All-Around and Positional Camps since 2006, as well as Allegro's Regional 16s-18s, National 17s-18s, and Allegro beach.

Coaches

Kenneth DeGroh III: A Chicago native, Ken has played volleyball since 4th grade. Ken played for Attack Volleyball his 17s year, and D1 Chicago his 18s year. Ken Played mainly outside hitter in his career, but was recruited as an Opposite for Rutgers-Newark where he played for 3 seasons. Ken graduated from Rutgers in 2014 with a Civil Engineering degree. Ken's coaching experience includes student coaching for the Rutgers-Newark women's team, as well as coaching the 18s Mens team for D1 Chicago 

Dritan Lazemetaj Played professional volleyball with Major League Team “Dinamo’’ in Tirana, Albania for 16 years, retiring when he moved to the United States in 2000. He was a setter for the team, and also coached a semi-pro team while playing for Dinamo. He obtained a Masters Degree in Albania. He began playing volleyball at the age of 12, and wants to use his extensive experience and knowledge as a coach while instilling the passion for the game of volleyball to the new generation of players.
